FOR PREACHERS ONLY

Guys, the following are my sermon notes for this morning:
  • Gen. 32:2
  • II Kings 6:15-17
  • Jn. 3:3
  • Eph. 6:10-12
  • Mt. 6:9-15
  • II Cor. 3:4-5

That's it. I know you can't imagine the words I intend to say from this. They flood my heart. What I do want you to get is encouragement to preach the most cutting edge technologically advanced sermons....the Word of God. Nothing is sharper than the double-bladed Word. Nothing is more quickening to the struggling heart than a word from God.

Don't let your most dominating and essential force (the Bible) be robbed by the need to feel more modern. Don't do it. While we want to relate to connecting means within our social structure, ears are hungry to hear the fascinating Truth beyond what our natural senses can....sense.

When we preach, may those listening experience the touch of God upon their very wonderful hearts. Give 'em heaven!

Make that a READY RECOLLECTION (as opposed to an unprepared recollection??)

Shawn (and any others interested...)-

Go here to hear Terry's sermons:

http://www.workshopmultimedia.com/memorial_drive/

For the most part, they are in chronological order (some special events are listed first and last). Today's is currently on page 5.

We're very grateful that Workshop Multimedia records and posts Terry's sermons each week for us.

Brother Terry, I am not a Preacher, but this weekend I spent some of the best minutes of my life with my dear 63 old friend, Mr. John Stanley - He is unorthodox when it comes to some things, but when it comes to knowing the Word of God he is anything but that. And you talk about a man of respect for others, he is to me one of a kind, though Terry, you remind me of him, but I know John much better than you.

How do you get to know someone well in relationship - spend time with them.

I WONDER IF ANY OF YOUR READERS ARE AS HIGH MAINTENANCE AS I AM??? Oh, I am not that bad, but I am simple. I like things simple. Simple in a great way. I like to ask questions, know the right answers.

That is why I included your notes in words even in this post. I like it that way. I like what you have to say as well. I and others can gain wisdom from your messages as delivered by you as you are guided by God's Holy Spirit. Keep on preachin' and don't let others look at your age as a factor when telling you it is time to retire. What is it with you Church of Christ ministers, deciding 60 something is when to retire, I would want you and Ronnie White to preach until at least your late 60's. Well that is just my opinion.

In the love of Christ, Jim Cooke - Midland, Texas - stay with God

Genesis 32:2 Jacob said when he saw them, "This is God's camp." So he named that place Mahanaim.

II Kings 6:15 Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?"
16 So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see " And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Matthew 6:9 "Pray, then, in this way:
'Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 'Your kingdom come
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 'Give us this day our daily bread.
12 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 'And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]'
14 "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 "But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

II Corinthians 3:4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.
5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,

Terry, I know you're topic was "For Preachers Only" but I saw Shane's comment about your sermons online. (I don't know why I never thought of that before! One of my many DUH moments!!) Anyway, I just listened to your sermon. I want you to know that God spoke to me through that sermon today. I needed to hear those words more than you can know. Thank you friend. Love you!
