God calls into existence things that aren't....yet (Rom. 4:17). That is a most fascinating statement because its direct implication is such is why we have/are to use faith. Faith believes things come about because our God can call into being things that do not yet exist.
How free are we to imagine? How ridiculous can we go? Well, nothing could be more absurd than the thought of making something from nothing. The cooks refer to baking a cake from scratch. Hardly. They have eggs, flour, sugar, water, etc. God develops from scratch. He can take even nothing and make something from it. So do we....when we use faith.
Shall we imagine?
What could we do by faith to match all of America's empty houses and buildings with all of America's homeless? So many structures are inhabitless and people are homeless. Maybe someone could create a marriage of the inhabitless and the homeless.
What could we do to connect the elderly confined alone in assisted care facilities with younger generations who sit on their porch steps feeling useless and unnecessary?
What can we discover about ourselves and our optimistic, highly creative, faith that would be so fascinating all would realize only God could do that? For certain, we still live in a time when the impossible can become possible; things that aren't....yet.....can be.

How can we imgaine if we don't have faith? Part of faith is about imagining the impossible could happen by the power of God. Our faith starts with God and we leave the rest up to Him. If we do not have faith in Him....how can we "imagine" the things that aren't? It's a matter of believing that He can do those impossible things.
I think if people looked into their lives, they would find something that they could have never imagined would happen, but yet it did. So it's not past us to imagine the impossible with "anything".
Time after time I see God using our imaginations to help build up His kingdom. We get so many creative ideas in life and have no idea where to put them. God gives us those avenues if we just open our minds up to believing it can happen.
I imagine what our society would be like with love and tolerance that can only come from God.
Our imaginations and faith combined will push us forward into our quest to do kingdom work. If we are willing to "imagine" then we are not putting any boundaries or limits as to what our God can do!
The book Velvet Elvis hits right on target with this.
“The moment God is figured out with nice neat lines and definitions, we are no longer dealing with God. We are dealing with somebody we made up. And if we made him up, then we are in control. And so in passage after passage, we find God reminding people that he is beyond and bigger and more.”
Therefore we must believe that even our imaginations cannot capture the full essence, justice, reasoning, and wisdom of God. Our imagination gives us only another aspect of God’s nature, not the full picture.
However, God has given us the gift of imagination and insight for a reason. And it seems that God wants us to wonder and question his nature and to continually imagine what he would have us do. This kind of wonder and imagination is captured in the song “I can only imagine”
What could we do if we just allowed it to work? I will continue to use my faith and imgaination and let God work.
GREAT POST TERRY!!!!:o)
