CYBER IDEA

Talk to me. Surely what I'm about to discuss is already developed. It's just that I am unaware.

Are there any cyber-churches established? eChurches?

We have at our fingertips the broad range of every nation. Compu-Churches need to be considered.

What do you know about their development thus far? And, should we establish another?

Talk to me.

It depends what you are looking for. Lifechurch.tv put one up in 2007, don't know anything about it.

Others exist as well in virutal worlds.

LifeChurch.tv is a huge online church -- they actually pair in with a real-life church community as well, a community which has multiple cooperative campuses across the country. These guys are really pushing the envelope and breaking the mold when it comes to churches working online. I believe LifeChurch.tv started as an independent non-denominational church with some bold ideas about using the Internet for missional purposes.

I'm a Church of Christ guy myself, but I've had my eye on LifeChurch.tv for over a year now, trying to learn from them on how to better utilize technology and Internet for our church community. It's a slow process learning, but it's fun trying to figure out what they are doing.

We have many friends that attend both lifechurch.tv(s) here in Tulsa. They absoltuely love it and are just as connected as we are within their body of believers. When I have spoken to them about the "oddness" I find about just 'watching' their minister on the big screen, they have assured me that over time, you don't even realize it any more. They are a growing church that has a campus minister at each location. We've been invited to their Saturday night service and think we are going to visit. From what I hear, it's pretty amazing. But can't speak from personal experience....yet. ;o)

How does Lord's Supper and holy kiss function in such a church?
