I'M STARTING A WAVE

Waves have been going on.....for a long time. The Pacific, Atlantic, and Gulf have always had them. Robberies are them. Epidemics participate. But I'm talking about the kind started every evening at every Major League baseball game. A group of fans starts the wave and it takes off with a few and gains momentum for the 46,000 to join in.

So waves of various sorts have been around. I'm starting one with this blog; not to imply it has never happened before for it surely and wonderfully has. I'm starting another wave of encouragement. I want you to join in. List the one or the ten or the twenty-one things you believe to be key as to why you see such hope for the present and future church. What causes you to have gigantic, irreversible hope? I'll start the list. You please add your thoughts.
  • The resurrection power God has placed in His common children.
  • The fact that God can breathe life into every dead congregation or individual.
  • The growing tendency of members to live in the Holy Spirit.
  • The increasing confidence the church finds in the Word of God.
  • The deteriorating confidence the church finds in man-made, sacred-cow traditions.
  • The continual effort to truly worship.
  • The continual compassion of hearts interested in so many mission points.
  • The erosion by darkness to make it clear the need for Light.
  • The shrinking of the world more reachable by the immediate-connecting tech community.
  • Everything is a "Yes" according to the promises of God.

Join the wave! You would agree or add?

A greater tendency to love the less lovable.
More evidences of reaching out to "touch" someone an let them know how really important they are to sosmeone.
Knowing that no matter how ordinary we are, we can do extraordinary things because we are filled w/His Spirit.
God offers love..He loves us so much...so very much.

-More seekers than knowers, more love, less law
-God's people sharing of their means, especially when they hear of a need
-More hope in heaven than in earth

Churchgoers who become Christians and make Jesus Lord.

Christians who realize that it means we love, but not because anyone is good enough to us, pretty enough, rich enough, "cool" enough, etc. It means being Jesus....we have impact!

Leaders...ministers, shepherds who are not afraid to speak out, speak up for what is needed in His family. Don't tickle our ears, be open...be frank.

Opening our eyes and seeing Jesus, understanding that God wants our love, our hearts...not our traditions...our rules.

church attenders continue their grace walk toward the clear understanding that: if I am saved, it is because God chose to rescue me and not because I learned to swim.

*That God loves us enough to keep revealing Himself to those of us who are virtually blind, but seeking.
*That His desire and ability to draw us closer to Him is limitless.
*That He can open eyes that have been only peeking for far too long.

These are Terry's, yours, mine, and ours - Acts 2:42 The Fellowship of the Believers
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
WE NEED TO HAVE A TERRY RUSH BLOGSPOT GET TOGETHER PARTY POTLUCK EVENT

- The weirdo who copies and pastes, so we can do the same, so we can cut what we don’t want and keep what we do want, so to share what we like, etc., etc., etc.,

- senses of humor, because too many of us can take life too seriously – Martha or Mary – do you have time for Jesus or time to do something else – what is more important
- a knack to wait on the other guy to do it or to do it ourselves OR READ THE FIRST CHAPTER OF A BOOK THAT WILL HAVE YOU BECOME THE GUY http://www.wayofthemaster.com/bestsellingbook.shtml
- WAKING UP EVERYDAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED, EVEN IF WE DON’T FEEL LIKE WE DID
- Our reliance on the most wonderful SAVIOR ever who Loves us because of who we are, not because of what we do
- Remembering those people, that are like Terry Rush, and like the ones who share their thoughts, b/c those are the difference makers
- Loving life now as if there were no tomorrow, b/c we never know . . . we have so many stories
- Not worrying really what the other guy thinks about what you say or do or what you like, or what you wear, or . . . because there is Only one opinion that really matters
- Enjoying exercises like this given by an inspirational man who encourages us to do likewise
- And last but not least . . . trying not to go overboard like I know I can do sometime, but if you do taking a fun plunge smiling knowing that someone is going to join you in your fun plunge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you all and God bless, Jim Cooke
